CLEARFIELD – This week’s “Corner Concert Series” will feature the musical duo “Shepherd & Archibald” from DuBois, who will play traditional Scottish, Irish and English folk music along with anything else they might throw in.
“Wear your kilt and prepare to be thoroughly entertained,” said Steve Albert of the Market Street Gallery. The gallery is sponsoring the “Corner Concert Series” every Friday night from 7 p.m. – 9 p.m.
The concerts take place at the Shaw Park, which is located on the corner of East Market and Front streets across from the Joseph & Elizabeth Shaw Public Library. The concerts will feature different local musicians every week, as well as many different styles of music.
In case of rain, musicians will play in the front entry of the Ritz Theater, so attendees are invited to bring a chair, according to Albert. The “Corner Concert Series” is a part of the “Help Save the Ritz Theater” campaign started on Facebook.
The concerts are offered free to the public. Seating and tables are provided and guests are encouraged to buy snacks and drinks at the Ritz Theater.
“The ‘Corner Concert Series’ is a way for the community to come together and support the Ritz Theater in its effort to upgrade their projector system,” said Albert. “A collection will be taken for the Ritz and the musicians will play for tips.”
