The National Weather Service in State College has expanded a flash flood watch to a portion of central Pennsylvania, including Bedford, Blair, Cambria, Cameron, Centre, Clearfield, Elk, Huntingdon and Somerset counties.
A flash flood watch means conditions may develop that could lead to flash flooding. People should monitor forecasts and be prepared to take action should flash flood warnings, be issued.
The NWS announced that recent rain has left the ground wet and most streams are running above normal. Normal low-lying areas, as well as smaller streams could see flooding develop quickly as more rain moves across the area.
Severe Weather Team 6 indicated that some thunderstorms and showers on Monday may be heavy at times, and more rain is expected on Tuesday in the region.
