Families who enrolled in the Joseph & Elizabeth Shaw Public Library’s Dig Into Reading summer reading program explored traditions and customs of ancient Egypt during a recent Family Fun Night program.
The families played a game called senet, decorated bookmarks to resemble a shabti, and designed a cartouche necklace to wear using Egyptian hieroglyphics. The program concluded with a mummy wrapping contest between the participating families.
The next Family Fun Night is scheduled for 6:30 p.m. July 15 at the library.
