CLEARFIELD – The Market Street Gallery is sponsoring a “Corner Concert Series,” starting July 5. The series will run every Friday night from 7 p.m. – 9 p.m.
The events will be held at the Shaw Park at the corner of Front and East Market streets. The park is located across the street from the Joseph & Elizabeth Shaw Public Library.
There will be different, local musicians every week, featuring many, different styles of music. The first concert will be a husband and wife duo, Dave and BethAnn McCain, namely “Strawberry Jam.” They play popular songs from the 1960’s through today.
This series is a part of the “Help Save the Ritz” campaign started on Facebook. The concerts are free. Seating and tables are provided, and guests are encouraged to buy snacks and drinks at the Ritz Theater.
“The ‘Corner Concert Series’ is a way for the community to come together and support the Ritz Theater in its effort to upgrade their projector system,” said Steve Albert of the Market Street Gallery. “A collection will be taken for the Ritz and the musicians will play for tips.”
