UNION TOWNSHIP – The DuBois-based state police have identified the two people who were killed in yesterday’s double-fatal accident that occurred at approximately 12:45 p.m. on U.S. Route 322 in Union Township.
Jeffrey D. Hoffman, 35, of Dauphin and Joyce D. Morse, 62, of DuBois were pronounced dead at the scene. Morse had two children passengers. Both were flown from the scene to the Children’s Hospital in Pittsburgh, state police said.
Both Hoffman and Morse were wearing their seatbelts at the time of the accident. Both vehicles sustained severe damage and were towed from the scene, state police said.
Hoffman was traveling westbound on U.S. Route 322; Morse was traveling in the opposite direction. For unknown reasons, Hoffman began traveling in the eastbound lane, which subsequently caused a head-on collision.
The investigation is continuing at this time.
