DUBOIS – Sandy Township police are investigating a home invasion-type burglary that occurred at approximately 6:10 a.m. Monday on Thunderbird Road.
Three male intruders forced entry into an elderly couple’s residence and bedroom. The victims were asleep and startled by the intruders. One intruder stayed with the victims; the other two ransacked the residence, police said.
After ransacking the residence, the intruders fled on foot. The intruders’ faces were concealed, and a very limited description was obtained of them. Police searched the area but were unable to locate anyone. Police dogs tracked the direction of travel of the intruders.
DuBois City police and the Pennsylvania State Police assisted with the investigation. In addition, police were assisted by dogs from Track and Trail Search and Rescue of Brookville.
