CLEARFIELD – Due to the continued response from participants and customers who have enjoyed previous years’ CNB Bank wall calendars, the 2014 edition will again feature photos of its market area in western Pennsylvania.
This year it has the theme of “Hometown Pride.” Examples of photos depicting the theme could be historic buildings or locations, familiar landscapes or local happenings.
Local residents, whether they are beginner, amateur or professional photographers, are encouraged to submit one or two of their photos via the CNB Web site at www.bankcnb.com. Photos can be submitted through Aug. 9.
On Aug. 15, 13 winners, including a Best of Show and 24 honorable mentions will be selected, and their photos will then be forwarded to be laid out and printed in the bank’s 2014 wall calendars. The calendars will be distributed to customers beginning in November.
The winners will be announced Aug. 16. The winners will be selected by photographer, Kevin M. Mills, who provided the entire collection of Pennsylvania photographs featured in the bank’s inaugural wall calendar in 2010. Mills will also select one ‘Best of Show’ to be featured on the front cover.
Mills began taking photographs and processing film at age 12 and never quit. Upon graduation from high school, he began teaching photography classes and learned the intricacies under the tutelage of a professional photographer in Colorado. He currently teaches photography at the Huntingdon Vo-Tech School and prefers to photograph nature, still life, portraiture, architecture and weddings.
CNB initiated this contest to provide an avenue to feature local talent and the communities in which the bank serves through the eyes of residents as they’ve captured with their camera.
“Over the past three years, we’ve asked for scenes and wildlife of western Pennsylvania and received fantastic entries,” said Joe Bower, president and chief executive officer of CNB Bank. “By featuring ‘Hometown Pride’ for the 2014 calendar, we hope to provide a calendar of photos to our customers that they can cherish and that depicts each town that we call home.”
CNB is now accepting photo submissions on its Web site. Each entrant can submit up to two photos. For details on the contest and photo requirements, visit www.bankcnb.com, and click on the calendar contest banner on the right-hand side.
CNB would like to encourage everyone to participate and wish all photographers, beginner to professional, the best of luck.
