Richard J. Davies Jr., 73, of New Millport died Sunday, June 9, 2013 at the Clearfield Hospital.
Born Dec. 11, 1939 in Delaware County, he was the son of Richard J. and Kathryn
E. (Vandling) Davies Sr. He was a U.S. Marine Corps veteran. He worked for Septa Philadelphia Transportation as a bus driver and also was a retired state constable.
On July 2, 1966, he wed Nancy Hallman, who survives along with six children, William Davies, Karen Scurlock, Joseph Davies, John Davies, Nancy Mayro and Richard J. Davies III; 13 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and a sister, Patricia Levin and her husband, Alvin of Jenkintown.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a daughter, Karen Ritter.
At the request of Mr. Davies, there will be no public viewing. A public memorial service will be held at a later date at the convenience of the family.
The Chester C. Chidboy Funeral Home Inc. of Curwensville is in charge of the arrangements.
