CLEARFIELD – Work to replace a bridge on Route 2012 (Douglas Road/Old Station Road) in Clearfield County is continuing with a detour set to begin June 17. Replacing the bridge will provide area travelers with a smoother, safer ride over a modern structure. The bridge spans Carson Run on Route 2012, in the village of New Millport.
This week, workers are constructing a temporary foot bridge for pedestrians. PennDOT’s official detour will then go into effect on June 17 and will direct drivers around the closure using Routes 729, 3022 (Ansonville Road), and 3007 (Douglas Road). PennDOT’s work schedule currently calls for the closure to last through early September. All work is weather and schedule dependent.
Overall work includes the placement of a new box culvert, roadway paving, guide rail updates and drainage improvements. M & B Services of Clarion is the contractor on this $350,000 project. Drivers are reminded to follow official detour signs, obey posted speed limits and always buckle up.
