From June 3 through Friday, police handled 70 service calls, issued 13 traffic citations, five written traffic warnings and three non-traffic citations.
An incident of harassment occurred June 3 in the area of West Long Avenue and Jared Street. Upon police arrival, the victim reported her ex-boyfriend drove by yelling at her. The investigation is ongoing at this time.
An incident of theft occurred June 3 at a residence in the 200 block of East Sherman Avenue. The victim reported she had her prescription drugs stolen along with her cellular phone. Drug violations were reported June 4 in the 400 block of Liberty Boulevard. While investigating the incident, police found two male juveniles who were in possession of marijuana. Charges are currently pending against both juveniles for the same.
A hit-and-run accident occurred June 4 in the 200 block of South Jared Street. Upon police arrival, the victim reported she heard a loud noise and her vehicle had been struck on the driver’s side. Police observed light blue paint on the victim’s vehicle; the investigation is ongoing at this time. Anyone with information regarding this incident is asked to contact DuBois City police.
A sign was damaged at a business in the 800 block of DuBois Street. While investigating the incident Wednesday, police determined the sign had been struck by a vehicle and possibly a tractor-trailer. The investigation is ongoing at this time. Anyone with information regarding the incident is asked to contact the DuBois City police.
An incident of harassment by communication occurred Wednesday on East Long Avenue. While speaking with the victim, she reported receiving harassing text messages from a known female. When asked by police, the victim also admitted to sending harassing text messages to the other female. Both females were advised to cease further contact. No further action was taken by police.
A fight was reported in progress Thursday in the 300 block of West Long Avenue. Upon arrival police found the suspects had left the area. Anyone with information regarding this incident is asked to contact the DuBois City police.
An accident occurred Thursday in the 100 block of Zierden Alley. Upon arrival police observed a vehicle driving away from the scene. Police pulled the vehicle over and made contact with its occupants. Further investigation revealed the driver was under the influence of alcohol. He’ll be charged with DUI.
An intoxicated female was reported Friday in the 100 block of West DuBois Avenue. Upon arrival police observed a female who was sitting on a bench. While speaking with her, she admitted to being highly intoxicated and she wanted to go to jail. She allegedly insisted that police shoot her, or she would run into traffic to kill herself. At that point, police took her into custody and transported her to the DuBois Regional Medical Center – West for a medical evaluation. There, the female allegedly called police derogatory names and directed threats toward them. The female was arrested for public drunkenness and underage drinking.
A bad check was reported Friday by a business on North Franklin Street. After receiving information, police cited a woman for writing the bad check.
