DUBOIS – The DuBois-based state police are investigating four, different burglaries that took place in Jefferson County.
The first occurred sometime between May 1 and June 4 at the old Jackson China Store along Third Street in Falls Creek Borough. Someone forcibly entered the building, and once inside they took approximately 330 oak wood stair treads, a dry three-phase transformer, approximately 84, 6 by ¾-inch C-Clamps and the brass emergency push-bar door handle on the front door.
The second occurred sometime between June 1 and Wednesday at a camp along Jim Town Road in Polk Township. Someone entered by prying open the basement door, and once inside they took numerous items. In addition, they pried open another building and took power tools and other items.
All items will be identified in a future news release, state police said.
The third incident of burglary occurred sometime between 12 a.m. and 7 a.m. June 2 on Grant Street in Reynoldsville Borough. Someone pried open a garage door and took a 2013 Polaris Razor 800E utility-terrain vehicle.
While taking the UTV, the suspect damaged a Kawasaki KX 65. The UTV was recovered on Point View Road on the same day, state police said.
The fourth incident of burglary occurred between 12 a.m. and 7 a.m. June 2 on Point View Road in Winslow Township. Someone pried open a wooden shed door and stole a Kawasaki KX 125 dirt bike.
The bike was recovered in the vicinity of the Bear Claw Inn on U.S. Route 322 on the same day, state police said.
