Dorothy A. Moore, 92, of Clearfield and formerly of Gearhartville died Wednesday, June 5, 2013 at Mountain Laurel Nursing & Rehabilitation Center in Clearfield.
She was the daughter of the late William Edward and Amy Lewis (Entwistle) Stratton born April 28, 1921 in Gearhartville, RD Philipsburg. She married Charles N. Moore on Feb. 14, 1948 in State College. He preceded her in death June 6, 1991.
She was Episcopal by faith and was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star in State College.
Mrs. Moore was employed as a secretary with Cerro Metal Products in Bellefonte for many years until retiring. She was a 1937 graduate of the Philipsburg High School.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by an infant daughter, three brothers and seven sisters.
Mrs. Moore is survived by a step-daughter, Roberta Johnson of Umatilla, FL; a sister-in-law, Elinor Stratton of Wilmington, DE; and a half-brother, James Stratton of Greensburg. She is also survived by three step-grandchildren; close friends, the Rev. William and Myra Fowler of Hudson, RD Philipsburg; and numerous nieces and nephews.
A graveside service will be held at 10 a.m. Friday with the Rev. William R. Fowler officiating. Burial will be at the Philipsburg Cemetery in Philipsburg.
At Mrs. Moore’s request, there is no public visitation.
