HARRISBURG – State Police Commissioner Frank Noonan has promoted Michael L. Troxell of Ferguson Township, Clearfield County, to captain and assigned him as the director of the Department Discipline Office.
Troxell most recently served as the Western Section Commander of the Systems and Process Review Division, Bureau of Integrity and Professional Standards.
A native of Jordan Township, Clearfield County, Troxell enlisted in the state police in 1988. Following his training at the state police academy, he was assigned to Troop G, Rockview.
As he progressed through the ranks, Troxell also served at stations in Troop C, the Bureau of Research and Development, the Department Discipline Office and the Executive and Administrative Offices. He was promoted to corporal in 1993, to sergeant in 2000, and to lieutenant in 2010.
Prior to his enlistment in the Pennsylvania State Police, Troxell served in the U.S. Army from 1985-1988. He is a 1984 graduate of the Moshannon Valley Junior/Senior High School and a 2009 graduate of the 278th Class of the Northwestern University, School of Police Staff and Command.
Troxell and his wife, Rhonda, have three children Megan, Paden and Jordan
