Milford H. Woods, 79, of West Decatur died Saturday June 1, 2013 at his home. He was the son of the late Walter Sr. and Martha (Kephart) Woods, born Jan. 29, 1934 in Morgan Run, RD Osceola Mills.
He married the former Gloria “Ann” Wilsoncroft on June 1, 1954 at the Ohio United Methodist Church.
Mr. Woods was a member of the Ohio United Methodist Church, RD Osceola Mills, where he was also formerly a Sunday school teacher. He was also a member of the United Mine Workers of America.
He was a truck driver for various area businesses, construction and coal companies until his retirement. He was a 1952 graduate of the Philipsburg High School.
He is survived by five daughters, Cherry McClellan and her husband Fred of Lakeland, FL, Debbie Medved and her husband, Bill of Altoona, Valerie Shucker and her husband, Tim of Clearfield and Kim Miller and her husband, Steve and Tammy Lumadue and her husband, Fred, all of West Decatur and one son, Milford R. Woods and his wife, Tshana of West Decatur.
Surviving are two sisters, Barbara Milliron of West Decatur and Joyce Manahan and her husband, Morris of RD Osceola Mills and one brother, Walter Woods Jr. and his wife, Mary of RD Osceola Mills. He is also survived by 16 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday at the Ohio United Methodist Church, RD Osceola Mills, with Pastor Donald Smith officiating. Burial will be at the Stoneville Cemetery, West Decatur.
Visitation will be from 6 p.m. – 9 p.m. Wednesday at the Heath Funeral Home, Osceola Mills, and from 10 a.m. until the hour of services Thursday at the church.
