A deer-versus-vehicle collision occurred Sunday on Beaver Road approximately half-mile south of Black Moshannon in Rush Township. Benjamin R. Moyer, 25, of Julian was traveling southbound and struck a deer. Both Moyer and his passenger, Patrick J. Elkin, 23, of Milesburg were wearing their safety belts and were not injured.
An incident of theft from a motor vehicle occurred Thursday in the parking lot of Weis Market in Philipsburg Borough. Someone entered the victim’s unlocked 2002 Saturn and stole a prescription bottle with 30 Percocet pills. The total value of the prescription was $22.95. The suspect fled the scene in a green Ford Expedition, and the investigation is ongoing at this time. An incident of theft occurred Monday on North Fifth Street in Philipsburg Borough. The victim told police that someone took a black, steal “Main Stays” fire pit from her backyard. The fire pit is valued at $40. During the investigation, a 19-year-old Philipsburg man was interviewed and eventually admitted to taking the fire pit, which was recovered from a shed at his residence. Charges are filed through the district court in Philipsburg.
