Mary J. Pryde, 99, a resident of Windy Hill Village, Philipsburg and formerly of Black Moshannon, died Wednesday, May 29, 2013 at Windy Hill Village.
Born May 19, 1914 in Philipsburg, she was a daughter of the late Isaac and Eliza J. (Cowfer) Lannen. On July 17, 1933 in Milesburg, she married Thomas Leslie Pryde, who died Sept. 13, 1971.
She is survived by one daughter, Gayle Doyle and her husband, Dan of Jacksonville, FL; three sons, Thomas Rex Pryde and his wife, Janet of Philipsburg and Leslie Pryde and David Pryde and his wife, Shirley, all of Black Moshannon; 14 grandchildren, 23 great-grandchildren and nine step-great-grandchildren.
She was the last of her generation.
In additions to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a daughter, Norma Jean Barber; four brothers, Lewis Lannen, William Lannen, Thomas Lannen and Daniel Lannen; and four sisters, Ruth Wilson, Esther Miller, Alice Parkes and Dorothy Wallace.
She was a 1932 graduate of Philipsburg High School. She was a homemaker and a member of the apostolic church.
She enjoyed doing needlework.
Funeral Service will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday at the David K. Dahlgren Funeral Home, 228 N. Centre St., Philipsburg, with Fr. William R. Walker officiating.
Burial will be in Beaver Cemetery, Black Moshannon.
Friends will be received from 5 p.m. – 8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
