H. Jean McCracken, 80, of Curwensville died Monday, May 27, 2013 at the Dubois Regional Medical Center – West.
Born May 29, 1932 in Kerrmoor, she was the daughter of Harry Walter and Mary Ann (Barrett) Bloom.
Mrs. McCracken was a homemaker. She attended the Curwensville Alliance Church, where she participated in the Ladies Missionary Group and attended retreats with the group. She also bowled in the Thursday morning Coffee League at the Clearfield Lanes for 45.5 years.
On June 29, 1949 in Mahaffey, she wed Willard “Shummy” McCracken, who survives along with three daughters, Gloria Wilt and her significant other, Tom Sutton of Bradford, Kimberly Peterson and her husband, Ronald of Curwensville, and Karen Leone and her husband, Michael of State College.
Also surviving are seven grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren, five great great-grandchildren, a brother, John Walter Bloom of Curwensville and a sister, Laura Bainey and her husband, Albert Jr. of Clearfield.
She was preceded in death by her parents and a sister, Evelyn Singleton.
Funeral services for Mrs. McCracken will be held at 1 a.m. Friday at the Chester C. Chidboy Funeral Home Inc. of Curwensville, with the Rev. Stephen Shields officiating. Burial will be in the Crown Crest Memorial Park in Hyde.
Friends will be received from 2 p.m. – 4 p.m. and from 6 p.m. – 8 p.m. Thursday and from 9 a.m. until time of services Friday at the funeral home.
