CLEARFIELD – Clearfield County District Attorney William A. Shaw Jr. announced Clearfield County’s Fugitive of the Week for the week of May 20.
Shaw identified the fugitive as Shannon Yvonne Jones, 31, of Akron, Ohio. Jones is wanted for failure to appear at arraignment court May 8.
On Feb. 27, Chief David R. Johnston of the Curwensville Borough Police Department filed a criminal complaint, charging Jones with access device fraud, M1, 16 counts; identity theft, M1; access device fraud, M2, 10 Counts; and access device fraud, M3, 13 Counts.
An affidavit of probable cause filed by Johnston states that on Sept. 27, 2012, the Curwensville Borough Police Department received a report of identity theft and access device fraud. Upon investigation, it was found that Jones had utilized the victim’s personal information and opened a credit card in the victim’s name without the victim’s knowledge or consent. It was also found that Jones had used the credit card on several occasions and made unlawful purchases, totaling $1,961.09.
A preliminary hearing was scheduled for April 10, at which time all charges were held for court. On May 8, Jones failed to appear for arraignment court, and a warrant was issued for her arrest.
Jones is described as a Caucasian woman who stands 5 feet, 7 inches tall. She has blue eyes and brown hair.
