CLEARFIELD – The Joseph & Elizabeth Shaw Public Library invites the Clearfield community and surrounding areas to dig deep and find their inner love of reading this summer with the annual summer reading program. Registration for the Dig into Reading program begins at 10 a.m. today.
Registration for the summer reading program is held online. Those interested in joining the program may access the appropriate registration form through the library’s Web site at www.clearfield.org/shaw.
Once registered, participants may pick up a registration packet at the library during kick-off week June 10-15. Registration packets include a brochure of activities and events scheduled throughout the summer and an accompanying calendar.
On June 10, participants can begin reading and logging books and minutes with their online account to earn incentives. All youth prizes can be redeemed at the Garden Shop in July. Young adults and adults may redeem their incentives at the front desk, also in July.
Children and youth will count books or minutes read based on their age category.
The Read-to-Me program is open to children ages birth through preschool. Anyone who has completed kindergarten in the 2012-2013 school year is invited to join grades one and two in the School Age A program.
School Age B is open to those youth who have completed grades three through five. Anyone completing sixth grade through eleventh grade should register for the young adult summer reading program.
Class of 2013 high school graduates and other adults are encouraged to sign-up for the adult summer reading program. All registrations for the summer reading program must be completed online through a link provided on Shaw Public Library’s Web site.
Anyone without access to the Internet or with concerns about the online registration process may come to the library during normal business hours to receive assistance.
Participants may continue to register for the summer reading program online throughout the summer and visit the library to pick up their registration packet.
Shaw Public Library is open Mondays, Wednesdays, and Saturdays from 10 a.m. until 5 p.m., Tuesdays and Thursdays from 10 a.m. until 9 p.m., and Fridays from 12 until 5 p.m.
