CLEARFIELD – Bids were opened at Thursday night’s Borough Council Committee meeting for planned paving projects.
Three bids were received for the Daisy Street Pavement Improvement project being funded by a Community Development Block Grant. They are from Glenn O. Hawbaker Inc. for $162,677.50, New Enterprise Stone & Lime Co. for $148,628 and HRI Inc. for $171,975.
Bids were also opened for paving projects funded through Liquid Fuels Funds. They are from Glenn O. Hawbaker Inc. for $109,992.70, HRI Inc. for $95,244 and New Enterprise Stone & Lime Co. for $100,131.53.
Bids will be reviewed and awarded at the May 16 meeting.
Borough Police Chief Vincent McGinnis reported that the SWAT training was very successful.
Public Works Committee Chairman David Gallaher reminds residents that the spring pickup has ended and there will not be any summer pickup.
Council’s Personnel Committee accepted the resignation of part-time secretary, Jennifer Brendel and will advertise for applications to fill that position.
