Mary Imogene Michael, 80, of DuBois died Monday, May 6, 2013 at the DuBois Nursing Home. Born Nov. 22, 1932, she was the daughter of the late Edgar G. and Mary Imogene (Albertson) Brennan.
On Sept. 28, 1968, she married Thomas R. “Pete” Michael. He preceded her in death in 1982.
She retired from the University of Southern California – Santa Barbara campus after 17 years of service. Prior to that, she worked at the Pennsylvania State University DuBois campus for many years.
She was a member of St. Catherine of Siena Roman Catholic Church.
She was a graduate of the Penn State University and attended post-graduate studies at the University of Southern California.
She enjoyed fishing, camping, reading, crocheting and painting. She especially enjoyed her family and friends.
She’s survived by seven children, Garth Michael and his wife, Nancy, Edye Stewart and her husband, Robert and Shannon Michael and his wife, Kimberly, all of DuBois, Colleen Dworetzky and her husband, James of Reynoldsville, John Rusciolelli and his wife, Kelley of Ridgway, Blaine Michael and his wife, Adeena of Las Vegas, NV and Kara Hinojosa and her husband, Gilbert of Falls Creek. Also surviving are a sister, Genevieve Howard of Pittsburgh, PA, 18 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her son, Kevin Michael; her sister, Joan Schroeder; and two brothers, Patrick and Edgar Brennan.
Friends will be received from 4 p.m. – 7 p.m. Wednesday at the Goble-Baronick Funeral Home.
A Scriptural Wake Service will be held at 3:30 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 9:30 a.m. Thursday at the St. Catherine of Siena Roman Catholic Church with Msgr. Richard Siefer as celebrant. Burial will be in St. Catherine Cemetery.
