Steven L. Hergenrother, 62, of Clearfield died Wednesday, April 24, 2013 at Mountain Laurel Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. He was born April 16, 1951 in DuBois, the son of Philip and Ila L. (Leach) Hergenrother.
He was a graduate of the Clearfield Area High School and Pennsylvania State University. He was a computer programmer for the U.S. Department of Defense until 1980.
He was a member of the West Side United Methodist Church and was an adult counselor to the youth fellowship.
He was a member of the Mathematic Association of America, American Mathematic Society and Penn State Alumni Association.
He is survived by an aunt, Muriel L. “Myrna” Beard and her husband, George of State College and several cousins and friends; Eleanor Bodle, Mary Helen Hipps and Linda Robison and their families.
He was preceded in death by his father, Philip on July 19, 1999 and his mother, Ila on Aug. 13, 1999 and his maternal and paternal grandparents.
Funeral services will be held at 8 p.m. Monday at the Bennett and Houser Funeral Home Inc., of Clearfield, with the Rev. Dr. Joleen A. Willis officiating. Burial will be in the Centre Cemetery, Hyde.
Friends will be received from 6 p.m. until the hour of the services Monday at the funeral home.
