CLEARFIELD – There are many reports that countless chickens have abandoned the Clearfield area, as the fifth annual Clearfield Chamber of
Commerce Wing Fling has been announced for April 27. The event will be held from 1 p.m. – 4 p.m. at the Expo II Building at the Clearfield Driving Park.
The event invites the public to sample the best wings from Clearfield and the surrounding areas. Attendees will help determine the winner of the “People’s Choice” Award for the best wings in the Clearfield area. For the “Judges’ Taste” Award, each restaurant will be able to submit their best wing to a panel of three judges to be evaluated and scrutinized for the highly-coveted award.
Alcohol will be on-sale along with complimentary sodas and waters available for those in attendance. Besides enjoying the wing tasting and judging, there will be music by Bob E. Day and Matt Day, kids games hosted by the Wesleyan Church, a raffle with prizes. Other entertainment will be a part of the tasty event.
There are many restaurants already signed up to compete for the famed “People’s Choice,” “Judges’ Taste” and “Spirit” Awards, which include Adam’s Golden Grill, Fun Central, Firehouse Grill (Whited Concession), Pizza Hut of Clearfield, Quigley’s Pub, Express Café, Mary’s Place and Railroad Street Tavern.
All chicken wing aficionados can purchase their tickets for only $10 before the event and for $12 at the doors. The discounted tickets can be purchased at the Clearfield Chamber office or at any participating restaurant competing in the wing fling.
