Edward Louis Tubo, 84 of Philipsburg died Sunday, April 14, 2013 at Clearfield Hospital, Clearfield. Born March 29, 1929 in rural Houtzdale, he was a son of James and Marie Saland Tubo.
He was a member of the Brisbin Church of God.
He severed with the U.S. Army during the Korean War. He was a member of the Houtzdale American Legion Freeberg Post #591, the former Houtzdale Veterans of Foreign Wars and the Gearhartville Sportsmen’s Club.
On July 2, 1963 in Winchester, VA, he married Catherine Mandel, who survives at home.
He is survived by a sister, Virginia Adams of Danville and a number of nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, James and Glenn; and three sisters, Marie Anderson, Eleanor Madanna and Doris Frank.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday at the Birger A. Freeberg Funeral Home Inc., Houtzdale, with the Rev. Andrew Griffin officiating.
Burial will follow in the I.O.O.F. Cemetery, Brisbin, with military honors provided by the Houtzdale American Legion Honor Guard.
Friends will be received from 4 p.m. – 8 p.m. Sunday and from 9:00 a.m. until the time of service Monday at the funeral home.
