CLEARFIELD – Clearfield Bank and Trust Company President William E. Wood recently presented a $5,000 contribution to the Clearfield Revitalization Corp. (CRC) for 2013. Main Street Manager Kellie Swales accepted the contribution on behalf of the CRC.
Clearfield Bank & Trust Company is a founding contributor to the CRC and pledged a total of $25,000 over five years. Its contribution was a necessary match as part of Clearfield becoming designated as a Main Street community back in 2009. This year marks the CRC’s fifth year in existence.
Swales thanked Clearfield Bank & Trust Company for fulfilling its five-year commitment. She said, “The Clearfield Revitalization Corp., (CRC) thanks Clearfield Bank & Trust Company for their continued support over the past five years. They have fulfilled their original financial commitment and have gone above and beyond.
“They donated an additional $5,000 to the CRC in 2012, totaling $30,000 [over five years] and have sponsored many of the CRC’s events like the Fall Festival and our park bench project. They have recruited many of their employees as volunteers.”
Swales said that Wood has been involved and a member of the board of directors for the CRC since 2011. She said their support and belief in the Main Street Program has allowed the CRC to achieve its goals within the Clearfield community.
Swales said the CRC consists of volunteers from local businesses, as well as both local and out-of-area residents who have a connection to Clearfield.
“Clearfield Bank & Trust Company’s support has helped turn the visions and dreams of these volunteers into a reality. Thank you for believing in the CRC and the betterment of our community,” said Swales.
Wood said, “Clearfield Bank & Trust commends the CRC for all the hard work and determination they have placed into the betterment of the downtown area over the past several years. Their dedication has truly paid off, and we look forward to supporting their efforts in the future as the program continues to grow.”
