Daryl Lee Guiher, 63, of New Oxford, passed into God’s hands Sunday, April 14, 2013 at the Gettysburg Hospital. Born March 6, 1950 in Clearfield, he was the oldest son of Harvey Forrest and Fay Jessie (Knepp) Guiher.
He was a graduate of the Curwensville Area High School and an avid wrestler. He was an honorably discharged U.S. Marine Corp veteran of the Vietnam War. He’d driven tractor-trailer for several companies in Pennsylvania for the past 30 years, and the hobby he enjoyed the most was collecting Lionel Trains.
Surviving is his wife, Catherine Marie Guiher; four sons, Brian Guiher and his wife, Jennifer, Randy Guiher and his wife, Hannah, Timothy Guiher and Harvey Guiher and wife Tonia.
Also surviving are two granddaughters, Andrea and Emma Guiher as well as two brothers and two sisters, Carl Guiher, Candace Shaw, Bruce Guiher and Marcia Wise.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Harvey “Skip” Guiher.
Funeral services for Mr. Guiher will be conducted at 12 p.m. Wednesday at the Chester C. Chidboy Funeral Home Inc. of Curwensville, with the Rev. Timothy W. Sadler and the Rev. Dr. Karen Minnich-Sadler co-officiating. Burial will be in the Friends Cemetery, Grampian.
Friends will be received from 10 a.m. until time of services Wednesday at the funeral home.
