I hold the EADS Group in high regard having worked with them as a consulting company that assisted Tri-county Rails to Trails on the Clarion-Little Toby Rail Trail in Elk and Jefferson counties. Our HCP program will help to keep a steady stream of environmental engineering projects flowing through North Central Pennsylvania. Taking care of our natural resources also provides millions of dollars of direct economic development benefits to our region – which translates to engineering, construction and material purchases.”
The EADS Group donation will be utilized as part of the matching funds required for the Clarion River Headwaters and the Smith Run Growing Greener acid rain projects in Elk County that were approved in February by the state’s Department of Environmental Protection (DEP). The DEP provided $354,000 in grant funding with a required match of $65,000.

Environmental Services Department Manager Richard Tote (or Clarion office Marketing Representative Tracy Frampton) said, “We’ve worked with a number of environmental stewardship organizations in the region, including the Elk County Fisherman, the Mill Creek Coalition and the Jefferson County Conservation District on a number of acid mine drainage (AMD) improvement projects in Elk, Jefferson and Clarion counties. We’ve also worked with a large private land owner on an innovative natural stream channel revitalization study for an approximately one mile long stretch of a high quality watershed in McKean County. We are pleased to be able to contribute to these types of important environmental improvement projects throughout the region.”
