BRISBIN BOROUGH – The investigation is continuing and charges are currently pending after a hit-and-run, alcohol-related accident that occurred Saturday on Swope Street in Brisbin Borough.
According the Clearfield-based state police, a 21-year-old Clearfield woman was traveling southbound when for unknown reasons, her vehicle traveled off the right side of the roadway onto a cement curb. Her vehicle continued to travel southbound while straddling the curb.
At that point, the woman’s vehicle traveled over the curb and across Russ Avenue. It traveled over another curb and onto the property of the Brisbin Church of God, striking a larger sign that belonged to the church.
The woman and both passengers fled the scene on foot; however, they were later located at a nearby residence. The woman was found to be under the influence of alcohol and transported to the Clearfield Hospital for a blood draw.
