DUBOIS – The DuBois Area Historical Society will feature its annual unique program, “DuBois Area High School Local History Projects,” at 7 p.m. Tuesday in the E. D. Reitz Musuem, 28-34 W. Long Ave., DuBois.
For the 11th year, Galen Kilmer will present the best of his Local History class projects. The program is free and open to the public.
Kilmer continued a tradition started by Todd Thompson, a retired DuBois Area High School teacher, who presented the local history project program for the historical society for many years.
The program has been presented for well over half of the DuBois Area Historical Society’s 31 year existence and is “always unique and surprising.” The high school students bring a new perspective to history and how it is examined. Kilmer will present the best of the projects completed by the students in his class, explain the course requirements, and discuss how the students conduct their research.
