Ann Mary Rafferty Ogden, known as “Mary,” of West Decatur died Saturday, April 6, 2013. She was born Jan. 22, 1938, 1938 in Grampian, a daughter of the late John and Ann Gannon Rafferty.
She was the oldest of four children. She attended Curwensville High School and graduated in 1956. She worked as a certified professional secretary for Dravo, Johnson and Johnson and Curtis Wright, as well as several other companies. She was a member of St. Bonaventure Catholic Church in Grampian.
She’s survived by a daughter, Crystal Ogden Baird and her husband, Thomas Lee Baird, of Hot Springs, AR; four grandchildren, Heather Laine Ogden, James John Paul Ogden, Amanda Baird Hill and her husband, Matt and Emily Ann Baird; and three great-grandchildren, Dana and Helena Peteuil and Jude Matthew Hill.
Surviving are two sisters, Christine Rafferty McCafferty and her husband, John and Shelia Rafferty Capatch and her husband, James and two sister-in-laws, Maureen Gannon Rafferty and Joanne Ogden Price and her husband, William R. Price. Also surviving are many nieces, nephews, other family members and friends. Her family came first and she was always filled with compassion, wit, and love.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Marlin Paul Ogden Sr. on July 26, 2000 and whom she married Feb. 23, 1957 at St. Bonaventure Catholic Church. She was also preceded in death by her son, Marlin Paul Ogden Jr. and her brother, John Regis Rafferty.
A funeral mass will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday at the St. Bonaventure Catholic Church, Grampian, with the Rev. Mark J. Mastrian as celebrant. A reception will follow the mass at the church fellowship hall. Following the reception, the committal service will be held at the Eden Cemetery, Shawville.
Friends will be received from 6 p.m. – 8 p.m. Wednesday at the Kevin A. Beardsley Funeral Home, Clearfield, with the Rosary being recited at 6 p.m. and a Christian Vigil service at 7:45 p.m.
