RIDGWAY – The Pennsylvania State Police Fire Marshal and the Ridgway Fire Department investigated a fire that damaged approximately 15 acres of natural cover after igniting at 5 p.m. Sunday about one-half mile north of the Well Lounge.
The fire was ruled accidental in nature and resulted from contact between the hot engine/exhaust surfaces of an all-terrain vehicle and dry vegetation. The Ridgway Fire Department was assisted by the Crystal Fire Department and Elkland Search and Rescue along with numerous private citizens.
