David B. ‘Dave’ Howard, 67, of Clearfield and formerly of Jeannette died Monday, March 25, 2013 at the Geisinger Medical Center, Danville. He was born July 18, 1945 in Greensburg, a son of the late Floyd and Bette (Samuels) Howard.
He owned H&R Block in Clearfield, Philipsburg and Curwensville for 43 years. Earlier in his life, he had worked as a disc jockey in Corry and Jamestown, NY. He loved music and movies and enjoyed acting in many of the CAST plays over the years.
He served with the U.S. Army, touring in Korea during the Vietnam War.
He is survived by a daughter, Kerri Miller of Clearfield; two sons, Stephen Howard and Andrew Howard, both of Clearfield; a grandson, Everett Miller; a step-son, Jason Holencik of Clearfield; a brother, John Howard of Jeannette; a nephew and two nieces, Matthew, Amy and Nikki; a great aunt, Marg Oplinger of Greensburg; and former spouses, Linda Starr, Nancy Aughenbaugh and Tracy Howard.
Funeral services will be held at 8 p.m. Thursday at the Kevin A Beardsley Funeral Home, Clearfield. Friends will be received from 2 p.m. – 4 p.m. and from 6 p.m. – 8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
The family suggests that memorial contributions be made to the Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals, 275 21st St., Clearfield, PA 16830.
