Miriam M. Myers, 66, of Sykesville died Sunday, March 24, 2013 at the DuBois Regional Medical Center. Born Feb. 27, 1947 in DuBois, she was the daughter of the late Samuel Powers and Julia (Karnaski) Powers Thunberg.
She was a homemaker.
She was a member of St. Michael the Archangel Roman Catholic Church and the Fraternal Order of the Eagles Aerie #4454 in Sykesville. She enjoyed taking care of others, loved the outdoors, camping and gardening.
She is survived by her long-time companion, Joseph E. Fish, with whom she made her home with; three children, Robert L. Powers of DuBois, Mona L. Stewart of Sykesville and Ronald E. Stewart of Reynoldsville; a step-son, Joseph Wilson of DuBois; two sisters, Emily J. Adair of DuBois and Judy L. Boron of Morrisdale; a brother, Samuel “Tick” Powers of Punxsutawney; and two grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her sister, Loretta Conrad and her grandson, Jayson Stewart.
Friends will be received from 5 p.m. – 8 p.m. Thursday at the Goble-Baornick Funeral Home.
A funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. Friday at the funeral home with Fr. Daniel Kresinski officiating.
Burial will be in St. Joseph’s Cemetery.
Memorials may be placed with the charity of the donor’s choice.
