Catheryn R. Schickling, 87, of Clearfield died Sunday, March 24, 2013 at the Clearfield Hospital. Born March 11, 1926, she was the daughter of Lewis F. and Mayme E. (Peoples) Robbins.
Mrs. Schickling was a homemaker.
On Aug. 9, 1950 in Winchester, VA, she wed Howard C. Schickling Jr. who preceded her in death on Nov. 30, 2009. She was also preceded in death by her parents and two brothers, George and Richard Robbins. She was the last member of her generation.
Surviving are three daughters, Linda Hipps and her husband, Ferman of Clearfield and Terry Hess and her husband, Graham and Wendy Ammerman and her husband, Carl, both of Millerstown.
Also surviving are seven grandchildren, Alan Hipps, Todd Hipps, Beth Hipps, Richard Hess, Amber Hess Hoover, Steven Ammerman and Daniel Ammerman and two great-grandchildren, John Buffington and Trent Hoover.
At the request of Mrs. Schickling, there will be no public viewing. Private committal services will be held at the convenience of the family at Pine Grove Bethel Cemetery with the Rev. Dr. Duane A. White officiating.
The family suggests memorial contributions be made to the charity of the donor’s choice.
