RINGGOLD TOWNSHIP – A fire destroyed a log truck and damaged a garage at 4:17 p.m. Saturday at 523 Steve’s Ln. in Ringgold Township. The fire has been ruled accidental, according to the Ridgway-based state police.
The Pennsylvania State Police Fire Marshal and the Ringgold Area Fire Department investigated the origin and cause of the fire. The fire destroyed a 2005 Peterbilt log truck and damaged a 40-foot by 60-foot garage.
The fire originated in the engine compartment of the log truck and determined to be accidental. Damage was estimated at $100,000, state police said. Stephen Martz of Ringgold owned the garage. No injuries were reported.
The Hawthorne, Dayton, Perry Township and Oliver Township fire departments assisted at the scene.
