Helen Kolesar Orlosky, 85 of DuBois died Saturday, March 09, 2013 at the DuBois Regional Medical Center. Born Dec. 27, 1927 in Glen Campbell, she was the daughter of the late Andrew and Meri Bigar Kolesar.
She was married to Robert Orlosky. He preceded her in death in 1974.
She was the manager at the Top Value Stamp Store for many years. She then worked at the DuBois Hospital for many years until her retirement. After retirement, she worked as a secretary at St. Michael’s Terrace and was a well-known door greeter at the Goble-Baronick Funeral Home since the funeral home began 16 years ago.
She was a member of St. Catherine of Siena Roman Catholic Church, where she was a member of the Altar Rosary Society, a past religious education teacher, and very active in many other church affairs. She was a volunteer at the DuBois Regional Medical Center and the Hahne Cancer Center and was a past member of the hospital auxiliary. She was a member of the Friendship Hose Co. # 2 Ladies Auxiliary and was a member of the Kitchenairs.
She is survived by four children, Mary Ann Hockman and her husband, C. Joseph of Osceola Mills; Karen Imboden and her husband, Richard of Silver Springs, MD; Juanita Erickson and her husband, Donald III of DuBois; and Robert Orlosky Jr. and his wife, Louise of Maquoketa; 11 grandchildren; and 20 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her 10 brothers and sisters and one great-grandchild.
Friends will be received from 2 p.m. – 4 p.m. and from 6 p.m. – 8 p.m. Monday at the Goble-Baronick Funeral Home Inc.
The rosary will be prayed at 1:30 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.
A scriptural wake service will be held at 3 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Tuesday at the St. Catherine of Siena Roman Catholic Church with Msgr. Richard Siefer as celebrant.
Burial will follow in St. Catherine Cemetery.
