Clair K. Bowes Sr., 78, of Sandy Ridge died Saturday, March 9, 2013 at his residence. He was the last of his generation.
Born Nov. 6, 1934 in Snow Shoe, he was the son of the late William Edward and Fannie Askey Bowes. He was married to Robin G. Hampton Bowes of Sandy Ridge.
Mr. Bowes worked for Morris Township for 19.5 years and retired in 1996.
He’s survived by two daughters, Betty Rossman of Bellefonte and Maryanne Bowes-Simington and her husband, Doug of Smoke Run and three sons, Clair Doc Bowes Jr. of Wallaceton, Floyd Bowes of Smoke Run and Ronald Bowes of Bellefonte; one mother-in-law, Ruth Blake of Sandy Ridge, 10 grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he’s preceded in death by his first wife, Rebecca Bowes, two daughters and a son and two brothers and sisters.
Funeral services will be held at the convenience of the family. There will not be any public visitation.
