William Bloom, 79, of Glen Hope died Thursday, March 7, 2013 at the University of Pittsburgh Presbyterian Hospital, Pittsburgh.
Born Oct. 27, 1933 in Madera, he was the son of the late Parker and Mary B. (Schaffer) Bloom. He wed Esther Mae Maines on Sept. 15, 1956 in Clearfield. He retired as a heavy equipment operator from Benjamin Coal Company after 25 years of service. He enjoyed hunting, gardening, playing cards and socializing. He also really enjoyed country-western movies.
He’s survived by nine children, Debbie Brantner and her husband, Phil of
Houtzdale; Bill Bloom and his wife, Karen of Chambersburg; Roger Bloom and his wife, Bobbie of Madera; Thomas Bloom and his wife, Tammy of Kellytown;Â Brenda Rodkey and her husband, Raymond of Mineral Springs; Daniel Bloom of Curwensville; Michelle Bloom of Kissimmee, FL; Brian Bloom of Clearfield; and Angela Maynard and her husband, Jim of Lanse.
Also surviving are nine grandchildren, Rusty Gillen, Renea Bloom, Daniel Mark Bloom, Mary Beth Bloom, Makayla Bloom, Tanya Bloom, Terry Bloom, Jimmy Maynard and Dennis “Scott” Berger; two sisters, Sarah Gill of Westover and Dorothy “Doll” Warholic of Atlantic;Â and numerous nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Esther Mae Bloom, who died on June 18, 2001; a grandson, John Francis Priselac Jr., who died on Jan. 31, 1990; and a brother, Jimmy Bloom.
Friends will be received from 7 p.m. – 9 p.m. Saturday; from 2 p.m. – 4 p.m. and from 7 p.m. – 9 p.m. Sunday and from 9:30 a.m. – 11 a.m. Monday at the Kruise Funeral Home Inc., Madera.
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Monday at the funeral home with the Rev. Paul Fields officiating. Burial will follow in Keagy Cemetery, Madera. Condolences may be sent to: condolences@kruisefuneralhome.com.
