Ernest Leroy McFarland, 61, of Clearfield died Thursday, March 7, 2013 at his residence after a lengthy illness.
Born July 12, 1951 in Buffalo, NY, he was the son of Kenneth and Mable (Sharp) McFarland. Mr. McFarland had been employed by the Harry Sorovo Railroad Company as a track foreman. He was a member of the Clearfield Eagles and the Clearfield L.O.O.M.
Surviving are two children, Vicki Bratton and her, fiancée, Richard Jones of Kylertown and Kenneth McFarland of Clearfield. Also surviving are three granddaughters; two sisters, Kitty Butler and her fiancée, Perry Centra of Clearfield and Mabel Mills of Depew, NY; and two special friends, Cathy and Jeff Leigey.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Nancy.
Funeral services for Mr. McFarland will be held at 1 p.m. Tuesday at the Chester C. Chidboy Funeral Home Inc., 16 N. Front St., Clearfield with the Pastor Larry Hill officiating. Burial will be in the Acacia Memorial Park North Tonawanda, NY.
Friends will be received from 11 a.m. until the time of services Tuesday at the funeral home.
