WOODWARD TOWNSHIP – A man has been jailed after a simple assault incident that occurred at approximately 9 p.m. Tuesday on Terrace Drive in Woodward Township, according to the Clearfield-based state police.
According to the police report, Craig A. Shirley, 28, of Glasgow and a 32-year-old Sandy Ridge woman engaged in a domestic disturbance while visiting with a friend. It escalated to a physical altercation when Shirley allegedly punched the victim in the head several times.
The victim sustained minor injuries and was transported to the Clearfield Hospital by Ramey EMS, state police said.
Shirley was arrested and transported to the Clearfield County Jail, where he was arraigned before Magisterial District Judge James Hawkins on charges of simple assault and harassment. He remains incarcerated in lieu of $10,000 bail.
