WINSLOW TOWNSHIP – A 20-year-old Sigel man, Dylan L. Baughman, was flown to the Altoona Hospital after a single-vehicle accident that occurred at 6:45 p.m. Sunday on U.S. Route 322 in Winslow Township, according to the DuBois-based state police.
Baughman was extricated from his vehicle, a 2002 Oldsmobile Intrigue. He sustained major injuries as a result of the accident. It wasn’t known if he was wearing his seatbelt at the time of the accident, state police said.
Baughman was traveling eastbound on U.S. Route 322 in the right-hand lane approximately 180 feet west of Johnson Drive. For unknown reasons, his vehicle traveled off the roadway and onto the south berm. It rotated clockwise off the roadway and struck a road sign. His vehicle continued traveling along the south berm for 90 feet, where his driver’s side struck a large tree.
Baughman’s passenger, Jamie L. Knoch, 20, of Falls Creek was transported to the DuBois Regional Medical Center – West. She sustained moderate injuries as a result of the accident. It wasn’t known if Knoch was wearing her seatbelt.
State police were assisted by the Reynoldsville Volunteer Fire Department, Reynoldsville Ambulance and Dusan Ambulance.
