DECATUR TOWNSHIP – Two people were transported to the Mount Nittany Medical Center for treatment of injuries after a single-vehicle, DUI-related accident at approximately 1:30 a.m. Saturday along U.S. Route 322 near Roxbury Lane in Decatur Township.
According to the Clearfield-based state police, a 22-year-old West Decatur man was traveling westbound at a high rate of speed. He was passing a truck-tractor. Afterward the man lost control of his Jeep, and it exited the roadway on the north berm. There, his Jeep overturned onto its roof.
The man wasn’t wearing his seatbelt and was injured. The extent of his injuries was not indicated by state police. His passenger, a 25-year-old Philipsburg woman, was wearing her seatbelt; she sustained minor injuries. Both were transported by ambulance to the Mount Nittany Medical Center.
DUI charges will be filed through the district court upon receiving the results of the man’s blood analysis.
