UNION TOWNSHIP – A fire destroyed a Brookville man’s residence after igniting due to a faulty flue pipe at 9:30 a.m. Thursday at 1968 Roseville-Sigel Rd. in Union Township, according to the Ridgway-based state police.
The Pennsylvania State Police Fire Marshal and Corsica Fire Department investigated the origin and cause of the fire. The fire destroyed a 43-foot by 30-foot, two-story wooden-framed residence.
The fire was ruled accidental and traced to a problem with the flue pipe from a wood burning stove. Damage was estimated at $300,000, state police said.
No injuries were reported as a result of the fire. The residence belonged to William Dombrowski of Brookville.
