Beverly J. Bergstrom Seger, 69, of Grampian died Tuesday, Feb. 19, 2013 at the Clearfield Hospital. She was born June 8, 1943 in DuBois, a daughter of the late Louis and Harriet (Vardy) Bergstrom.
Mrs. Seger was employed at the Pet Place, DuBois and was a member of the St. Paul’s United Methodist Church, Grampian. She loved spending time with her family friends and neighbors. She was a stay-at-home mom until her children were raised and on their own and what an excellent job she did.
She was then employed at the pet store where her genuine passion for animals came shining through. She was truly in her element. It was nothing for her to bring home a sick animal and nurse it back to health. She was an animal lover in every sense of the word.
She is survived by two children, Richard Seger of DuBois and Brenda Koval and her husband, Steve of Clearfield; two grandchildren, Tiffanie ‘Erin’ Cortazzo and her husband, Joe of State College and Stephen ‘Eric’ Koval of Clearfield; a great granddaughter, Adelyn Koval; a future great-granddaughter, Avery Cortazzo; a brother-in-law, Wayne Shaffer of DuBois and his family; as well as many nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her son Kevin Seger; a sister, Emily ‘Sue’ Shaffer; and a brother, Richard Louis Bergstrom.
Funeral services will be held at the Kevin A. Beardsley Funeral Home, Curwensville, at 11 a.m. Friday with the Rev. Emmett Anderson officiating.
Friends will be received from 9 a.m. – 11 a.m. Friday at the funeral home.
