Alpha Geraldine “Gert” Golding, 75, a resident of North Philipsburg, died Friday, Feb. 15, 2013 at Windy Hill Village, Philipsburg.
Born Nov. 16, 1937 in West Decatur, she was a daughter of the late Alfred Joseph and Gertrude Elizabeth (Dougherty) Godissart. She married Ralph William Golding in 1958 and he died May 20, 1970.
She is survived by three sons, Dennis Golding of North Philipsburg, Douglas “Bear” Golding of South Philipsburg and Barry Golding and his wife, Wanda of Pennsylvania Furnace; four sisters, Betty Jane Blasko, Nancy Shimmel and Rose Lonjin and her husband, John, all of West Decatur and Margaret Ann Swatsworth and her husband, Richard of Shiloh; two brothers, her twin Alfred “Mike” Godissart of Hawk Run and Frank Godissart and his wife, Nancy of Clearfield; eight grandchildren, Tom Golding, Kelly Golding, Justine Odgen, Kristen Lefebvre, Cameron Golding, Dustin Golding, Colleen Golding and Cody Golding; and six great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents and husband; an infant daughter; a son, Donald L. Golding; a grandson, William Joseph Golding; and two brothers, Ronald and Walter Godissart.
She was of the Protestant faith.
She worked for the General Cigar, Prestige Window Company and Utmost Machine Company. She enjoyed fishing and all sports in general. She played and coached the Grassflat Bobcats and Geisinger Medical Center softball teams.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the David K. Dahlgren Funeral Home, 228 N. Centre St. Philipsburg, with the Rev. John T. Dill officiating. Burial will be in the Philipsburg Cemetery.
