Vivian C. Jacobson, 88, of Lanse died Tuesday, Jan. 29, 2013 at the Clearfield Hospital. Born March 8, 1924 in Philipsburg, she was the daughter of the late Carl W. and Helen Brown Wick.
Mrs. Jacobson was a long-time resident of Lanse. She was a member of the Holy Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church, Lanse. She was a former member of the Altar Guild.
She was a 1942 graduate of the former Cooper Township High School. She’d retired from Penn State University, where she worked in housing and food services.
She married Emil Jacobson on July 16, 1943 in Baltimore, MD. He preceded her in death on April 2, 2005.
She’s survived by one daughter, Julie Josephson and her husband, Jim of Munson; two sons, Jeffrey Jacobson and his wife, Margaret of Olympia, WA and Edward Jacobson of Lanse; five grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, Mrs. Jacobson was preceded in death by one brother, Durvin C. Wick. She was the last of her generation.
A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at the Holy Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church, Lanse, with the Rev. Matthew Finney officiating. Burial will be in the Grassflat-Lanse Lutheran Cemetery, Grassflat.
The family will receive friends from 6 p.m. – 8 p.m. Friday and from 10 a.m. until the time of services Saturday at the church.
