SANDY TOWNSHIP – Two people were transported to Pittsburgh for medical treatment after a two-vehicle accident Friday on state Route 255 at Hungry Hollow Road in Sandy Township.
According to Sandy Township police, a vehicle driven by a 24-year-old Luthersburg man was turning onto Hungry Hollow Road from SR 255. At the time, a 54-year-old Weedville man was traveling behind him and failed to slow down. The Weedville man subsequently impacted the Luthersburg man’s vehicle.
The Luthersburg man was taken to the DuBois Regional Medical Center before being transported to Pittsburgh for severe injuries. His passenger, a 22-year-old DuBois woman, was taken to DRMC for treatment and then transported to Pittsburgh to be treated for early onset labor due to the accident. The woman’s 2-year-old child was taken to DRMC for minor injuries.
The Weedville man failed several field sobriety tests and was taken to DRMC for a legal blood draw. Charges are currently pending.
