Eleanor C. ‘Elly’ Ardary, 84, a former resident of Springfield, Delaware County for 41 years before moving to New Holland, went to be with the Lord on Thursday, Jan. 17, 2013 at the Lancaster General Hospital.
She was born Nov. 8, 1928 in Philadelphia, a daughter of the late Adam and Caroline (Beyer) Yung.
Mrs. Ardary earned her Bachelor’s degree in home economics from Bob Jones University in Greenville, S.C. She was employed as a dietician for the Pittsburgh Public School System for two years. Then, she was a physician’s assistant in Springfield, Delaware County for 18 years.
She was a member of the Christian Fellowship Church, New Holland.
She is survived by three children, David Ardary and his wife, Victoria of Springfield, Sandra Demingny and her husband, James of Drexel Hill and Mark Ardary and his wife, Susan of Saylorsburg; seven grandchildren Samantha, Adam, Erik, Amy, Brittany, Stephen and Tyler; a great-granddaughter, Mackenzie and a sister, Dorothy Staude and her husband, Jim of Chambersburg.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Harry L. Ardary on Dec. 3, 2008 and whom she wed Aug. 18, 1951 in Pittsburgh.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday at the Kevin A. Beardsley Funeral Home, Curwensville with the Rev. Daniel M. Osterhout officiating. Burial will follow in the Oak Hill Cemetery, Curwensville.
Friends will be received from 1 p.m. until the hour of services Thursday at the funeral home.
