An incident of criminal mischief occurred sometime between 11 p.m. Monday and 12:30 a.m. Tuesday on Wood Street in Coalport Borough. Someone used a blunt instrument to strike a 45-year-old Coalport man’s truck in the right side of its cab and bed area. Damage is estimated at $300. Minor injuries were reported following a two-vehicle accident at approximately 5:20 a.m. Wednesday along state Route 879 in Curwensville Borough. John. W. Edwards, 34, of Curwensville was traveling westbound and lost control of his pick-up on the snow-covered roadway. His pick-up traveled into the eastbound lane and struck a vehicle operated by Robert A. Shaffer, 59, of Curwensville. After impact, Edwards’ pick-up continued westbound a short distance before coming to a rest in the middle of the roadway. The Shaffer vehicle continued a short distance eastbound and came to a rest in the westbound lane, facing southward. Both Edwards and Shaffer sustained minor injuries. Edwards’ passenger, Wendy J. McCracken, 45, of Curwensville wasn’t injured. All three were wearing their seatbelts at the time of the accident. Edwards will be cited for roadways laned for traffic through the district court.
