CLEARFIELD – The Clearfield Revitalization Corp. has announced its collaboration with Starr Hill Winery and Graphics Designer Ian Aughinbaugh. The third series collector’s edition “Clearfield” wine will debut at the Groundhog Wine Festival on Feb. 2.
Each year, this benefit wine appears with a new label and $1 per bottle purchased is contributed to the CRC and the Main Street Program efforts.
Main Street Manager Kellie Swales said, “Each year, I look forward to seeing the new label from Ian, as he is so talented and creative with this project. We are thankful of this partnership with Ian Aughinbaugh and Starr Hill Winery, as this project brings attention to the best of what our area has to offer, which is what the CRC is all about.
“This wine could be a welcomed conversation favor for local businesses to give to clients throughout the year and is perfect for large picnics, weddings and get-togethers.”
Aughinbaugh said, “I always look forward to this collaboration for various reasons. Â As an artist, it’s rather enjoyable to come up with a new design depicting a different aspect of Clearfield each year, to show just how many aesthetics are overlooked from day to day. Each design slightly builds upon the previous year’s design to tell a visual story of sorts. Â After creating last year’s label, I decided to challenge myself to find a unique vantage point of Clearfield to use as the body of the design. The 2013 label definitely displays just that.”
Aughinbaugh will be available at the Groundhog Wine Festival at the Expo 2 Building at the Fairgrounds to autograph your collector’s bottle.
Starr said, “The 2013 ‘Clearfield’ wine is one of our fastest selling Charity wines, with a portion of the sales going back to the CRC and their Main Street Program efforts. We look forward each year to the design Ian Aughinbaugh puts together for the project and this year’s Third Series Collector’s edition is outstanding. Come to this year’s Festival Feb. 2 and have a Taste of Clearfield.”
